The investigation at Niddry Street Vaults was very interesting, most experiences were personal, and some backed up by others who were present on the night.
Various sightings of shadows which represented figures, Cala described a bent over figure wearing a tall hat who resided at the top of the passage way; she felt that he was not a pleasant person in his day; this was very early on in the invest so we ruled out fatigue as a reason for sightings, the lighting was candle lit and no air movement. There is one door way in and another at the end of the passage.
During the investigation an experiment in the lower part of the vault was held by other members, they were trying to influence things at the end myself, Cala and Sarah were situated. Both Cala and I at the same time picked up a name which we later found to be unresearched. It could not have been possible that we knew it of a character who resides in the vaults after a hideous crime.
I had a pulling sensation on my coat after looking behind me, no one was there.
We were in the central part of the passage way when 3 members Cala, Sarah and myself heard a loud noise from the top of the passageway. We needed to check it out; Cala being Cala thought she was ok and proceed up the three steps and started to walk up the corridor only to be met by a loud “cough” right in her face, of course there was nobody there and quickly turned around and ran back to us, we could not hear it but it was loud enough to scare Cala.
I walked down the passageway passed centre vault Sarah was in front of me, she turned around to look towards me and there she saw a disembodied head peer around the darkened doorway and at that precise time I had what can only be described as a blowing in my left ear. Again there were no drafts so that in its self was strange.
Again we can only use this as personal experiences as nothing evidential was caught on either EVP or camera , our digital camera was drained of all battery power which is typical in a haunted location as its quite documented that spirit can drain electrical equipment quite quickly if present.
It is A.P.I’s intension to visit these vaults again to possibly gain further evidence of the paranormal.
